SANscribe is a non-profit organization, providing technical services in transcribing text from Roman to Arabic script. Transcribing is not the same as translating. An example of translating is taking the English word "Hello" and turning it into "konnichiwa" for Japanese and "sannu" for Fulfulde (a language in West Africa). An example of transcribing is taking the Japanese word "konnichiwa" and replacing it with "こんにちは" using the Japanese Hiragana character set. Both words are pronounced the same and have the same meaning. They are the same word, but repersented with two different character sets. The same transcribing can be done with Fulfulde, the Fulani language. For example the word "Sannu" can be replaced with "سَنﱡ", the Arabic script character set. Again both words are pronounced the same and have the same meaning. The word can be represented with two different character set. The only difference is the Roman characters are read from left to right; while the Arabic characters are read from right to left.
